Im new - Not sure if im having dreams with lucidity

I just started reading about lucid dreaming and its fantastic!!
from what ive read its basically like a virtual reality game where your in total control?

I still cant decide if I have been doing WILD's for my whole life or just plain dreaming

this is happening I usally sleep with a pillow over my head so my hot breathe wakes me up many times during the night (living in arizona makes it hotter too)

So I wake up after a dream and I just focus on what I have been dreaming about and before I know it im back in the dream

Im not 100% sure too say that I can control everything but im sure I can control somethings in the dream.

A big thing is usally if I'm falling towards the floor the floor seems to fall with me until I slowly hit without any damage

Or sometimes boxes tv's , and other furniture will appear when I think about it appearing

The reason why im not sure if im lucid dreaming is because when Im dreaming I cant say that im aware that im dreaming and reality is my sleeping in my bed

      thanks!

Well, if you cant make the concept that "Hey I'am dreaming" then it's not a Lucid Dream..i have had dreams in my life where i could somehow manage control of a dream but I wouldn't beable to be LUCID..i think those type a dreams are on the EDGE of being LUCID the next step would just be you sayin "Hey, holy shit....im dreaming!"

So keep it up and if it happens again..just tell yourself that you are dreaming

      have fun

      Welcome to Dream Views firsake

Sounds like you were getting the beginnings of a WILD, albeit an incomplete one. To be actually lucid, like spirit said, you must be aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. Dream control is a moot point if you're not even aware that it is in fact just a dream.

But sounds like you may be getting the WILD technique down. You should read up on the WILD Tutorial and keep trying. Good Luck.

Have you read my sleep paralysis tutorial? I do that, in order to have a semi lucid dream...when i'm in that state, i'm still conscious, but i'm actually dreaming...i'm still aware of what's around me..if that makes sense!
