      Welcome aboard mate,
Believe it or not you dream every night, you just don't always remember them. First thing you need to do bro, is start keeping a dream journal. This will help increase your dream recall. Get to where you can remember at least one dream a night for a week and then PM me. We will go from there. There's heaps of basic info on the home page too, get a good foundation with that. Remember that the effort you put into keeping a dream journal will have a direct effect on your dream sojourns. I'm John, be sure to ask me or any of the dream guides if you have any other questions and ...

May you awaken within the dream
and grasp the fact that you are dreaming
so that all dreamlike beings may likewise awaken
from the nightmare of illusory suffering and confusion.

      Cheers,
      John

John is right! keeping a dream journal will help, while keeping one u will want 2 figure out the best time 2 write in it tho. some people get stumped writing in one & can't remember what 2 write down because they already forgot the dream! :S
Another good thing 2 start would be RC - Reality Checks. Reality Checks is where u simply pick certain times thro out the day & say 2 urself "am i dreaming?" & look around urself 2 notice anything weird or pick out DS (Dream Signs - common things u often see in ur dreams) After a while it becomes a normal habit & u will do it in ur dreaming state as well. even tho many will tell u that RCs increase LD only i find it 2 be way helpful w/Dream Recall as well.

I dont see the point in reality checks,
I've always been able to consciously tell when I was dreaming.
I'll get onto the recall thing
      thanks for the help

Absolument. Writing in a dream journal strengthens your connection with your mind's dream state. Vividness is a natural result.

I agree with FollowerofGiris as I find reality checks have been helpful for me at times.
I also know what you are saying Newbie, If reality checks become a mindless action they are fruitless. And let's face it, if we cultivate mindfulness, by observing our breath and our actions throughout the day (because unfortunately we sleep-walk through life as much as we wake-walk through dreams), that mindfulness will translate over to the dreamstate. Ultimately if we know with each breath in the day when we are awake and what we are doing, then there is a higher probability that when we observe our breath in sleep, we will become aware of our state as it is.

Peace Out to the buddha within you,
      John
