      HIT trouble

As I see more HI's i can feel myself drifting to sleep, I counted in my head like 1... i am dreaming 2.... i am dreaming but i was so concentrated on counting that i diddnt see any more HI's. And then i think i was going through SP but didnt see any more images and I kept thinking about how tired i was. Is there a better way to stay aware but at the same time see Hi's?

I think the whole counting thing is screwing you over. I've never done WILDs that way...and it does seem like it takes too much effort and would keep you too conscious. I've suggested the song method in a few other posts...but here it is again....

Think of a song you really like and know all the lyrics too. After you feel your body go all sort of numb and you kinda feel like you are floating there start singing the song in your head over and over again. If you can't remember the lyrics...then shit just make some up. I find that the song technique works well because it allows you just the right amount of consciousness to be able to enter into the HI stage. Also, you should experience the vibrations and sleep paraylsis before the HI stage, so if you aren't in SP yet then the things you are seeing are just random images in your head and not REAL HI. You will KNOW when you see real HI. It's extremely realistic, colorful...and crazy as hell. It's like you are actually hallucinating...like watching a cartoon or something crazy on tv and eventually the song that you are singing in your head sort of takes you into the HI and during HI (because you also experience auditory hallucinations) the song will usually start to begin to actually play as if you were hearing it on the radio. By this point you just kind of let go, sit back and relax and enjoy the HI and follow it into your dream. And typically that song or another one will become the soundtrack to your lucid dream.

From what I've read about your experiences I'm not sure that you've even reached HI yet. Have you been through the vibrations of WILD? Or are you just feeling numb and then see these images and sort of slip out of consciousness. Because to me it seems like either you are too conscious to enter SP/HI or you fall asleep before you even get there.

EDIT: oh and PS I love Paul Van Dyk too...hell yeah...

Nina, I thought that your mind can be as awake as you want, because your body is the thing that needs to fall asleep

No if your mind is too awake then it won't even enter into the stages of WILD. You have to let go of some of your consciousness in order to successfully WILD...but it's a fine line between being too conscious and falling asleep. Just takes practice to get it right.
