      Hello, I'm New to This

      Hello everyone,

I found this forum when I searched for "dreaming about dreaming" there was a post in which someone asked about this, and they were told it can't happen, but I'm sure that's what happened to me last night. I kept waking up (in real life) but when I went back asleep the dream continued and I felt like I was dropping into deeper levels of dream, that I eventually woke back up from. It was like the film Inception, which I haven't seen since it came out so it would not be fresh in my mind. In the dream there were stages where I couldn't move, and my friend (in real life) George was trying to get me up, as though I was drunk and he was helping me (this was in the dream).

About me though; I have always been fascinated by dreams. Sometimes the highlight of my day is looking forward to sleep and a mad dream. I noticed this forum mentions "lucid dreaming" I haven't read anything about it but I assume that means being aware of dreaming and being able to control yourself whilst in a dream. This has happened to me before but I have never tried to induce it. I think the first time it happened I was about fourteen. Its happened a few times since then. I'm now twenty-seven. I don't keep a dream book, which I think is something I should do, as I often remeber dreams vividly for about half an hour after waking and forget almost all of it by the time I'm fully awake.

Another thing which has been happening to me for about the last year, I have been dreaming about a specific place, which is not real but is like a fantastical and sometimes horrifying version of the area I live in. I have dreamt about it so often I could draw maps. What are other members views or experiences of this?
