Obligatory hello and an SP nightmare

Hello everybody, I'll be trying (there is no try) my hand at lucid dreaming for the coming nights, and it's always nice to have a community to help you. I remember two dreams in which I had at least partial lucidity, and one in which I had full lucidity and partial control, but I had no idea lucid dreams were something that could be made to happen (all lucidity was accidental). I'm already exploring the possibilities of being able to do literally anything.

But here is my first question about a recurring dream I had when I was younger, which in retrospect seems quite peculiar. In this dream, I was always in sleep paralysis and completely lucid and aware of my surroundings (wind coming in through the window, the texture of my bed). Then, my dad comes in through the door of my room, and starts to threaten to poke me (I can't see him, but I'm aware of his presence). He keeps coming closer and closer to my bed, and after about thirthy seconds, he pokes me in the stomach and sleep paralysis breaks, and I'm up in my bed feeling like I've just received the scare of a lifetime. What's strange about this is that I know that the brain conjures imagery when in a state of sleep paralysis but while being conscious, but I've never heard of it explicitly doing so to make a particular recurring dream happen. I've never had any other dream in this particular state. I also 'beat' the dream, by trying very hard to make a sound. Eventually I made a clacking noise with my tongue, which made SP break and made me fully awake. I felt a great sense of victory in beating the nightmare (as I always spent thirty seconds in agony of what was about to come), and since then, I've never had it. I've never experienced the SP state anymore either, it seems it was intended especially for that dream. Maybe this happens more often, but it seems quite strange to me. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

      Welcome to dreamviews!

I saw something like this on tv about some woman shouldnt feared going to sleep because she had a reucrring(sp?) dream about a robber shooting her, so she got help from some dream experts, and she someone learned how to lucid dream and she confronted him, and the dreams stopped, so I guess its pretty normal...
