      New at LD

Well just start two nights ago and still have had no luck which is probly expected cause heard it can sometimes take weeks or months.

I can on average recall atleast 1-2dreams a night and sometimes 3 so thats not a problem in remembering my dreams. When ever I do dream there never comes a time when I say to myself is this a dream because most the time I am just going along with the dream and I believe anything and everything

Been reading about WILD and have a few questions. When laying in bed do I have to stay 100% still and am I suppose to have my eyes open or closed. Exactly what are these hypnagogic images and will I know when I see them and how will I know to enter my dream.

How long when using WILD does it take on average till you start seeing this hypnagogic images and once you enter the dream will you be in LD straight away or will this only get you into a normal dream.

Just started reading about LD two days ago and from what I am reading LD is suppose to be amazing and something you want to be really able to do which is why I really want to have one.

      Welcome to the forum!

With proper techniques (check out MILD and reality checks) and some effort you are likely to achieve your first lucid dream within a week or so.

For the beginner, proper techniques are the key - otherwise you are likely to drop lucid dreaming within few days.

As for WILD - your best shot at it is after you wake up from a dream - your body is relaxed enough and you can gain enough awareness. Now just lay in bed relaxed, you may turn once in a while. Keep your eyes closed and your mind relaxed. Dont start thinking about daily stuff. And dont anticipate the onset. Paying attention to every single bodily experience may abort the onset.

To summarize it : relax, stay aware and go with the flow.

      Lucid dreaming is indeed amazing

So are images in my head and hypnagogic images way different. Also few hours ago had a nap and just wanted to give WILD a go and wondering if this was a stage I reached of WILD.

I layed back and got comftable and made shore every part of my body was comftable and layed there for maybe 10-20mins but hard to tell.

Well after laying there for some time my arms started getting heavy and it kinda felt like they weren't there but they were. What I mean by this is I could still feel them attached but they felt kinda num and heavy. Then my legs started to do the same and this whole time all I was thinking about was just making shore I didn't move and I didn't.

But after a while I didn't feel nothing so just layed on my side and fell a sleep and had a short normal dream.

So was this thing with my arms and legs a stage which happens during WILD.

Hypnagogic images are those images you get when you're really relaxed, and on the edge of sleep. It's not like daydreaming, as they are less substantial. Hypnagogic imagery is one of the first stages of WILD

This to me, sounds like you were entering a phase called sleep paralysis, where your mind is still conscious, but your body isn't. It's a natural mechanism to stop you acting out your dreams.
You can use sleep paralysis to enter a dream by working with your Hypnagogic imagery.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions!
