Two brief questions

I must say that I was filled with joy when I came across this site last night, it's great. I had two brief questions: Will smoking marijuana impair one's ability to lucid-dream? And the second being..does lucid-dreaming wear you down? Does it have affects which will be felt in reality? Just curious, appreciate responses, -etrain

Smoking pot typically inhibits dream recall, which makes it difficult to lucid dream. Different people seem to have different reactions though. I don't believe that lucid dreaming will wear you down, but again, different people have different experiences.

Hmm, I see. Well I'm a fairly-frequent smoker and was wondering whether or not it would prevent me from attaining the things I wish to. Can you explain the basic concept of a "Dream-guide" to me? LD simply fascinates me.

If you are asking about the Dream Guides here at DreamViews, we are simply here to help out new members, show them where to find stuff, answer questions, etc. If you are referring to the "Dream Guides" that some people claim to meet in their dreams, that's another subject, and one that I'm not too well-versed on. I'm sure somebody else would be able to answer that better than I.

Hi I would suggest reading the tutorial at DV and read a book or two on lucid dreaming to learn the basics first. I’ve been at it for months and that would be an advanced subject as far as I’m concerned. I could not answer the question about a Dream Guide. I have read a few books and some authors refer to seeking a Guide but like I said I would suggest the basics first. I.e.: Dream Journal, Reality Checks and the like. Hope that helps.
