      Hello!

I've been wanting to have lucid dreams for years but haven't had much success. I am pretty sure I haven't been successful because I can't seem to get into the habit of recording my dreams. Any tips?
I actually found this site while researching for a paper I am writing about why dancers should use lucid dreams to practice. I have found it ironic that I am advocating something that I myself haven't been able to accomplish. So now I am even more determined than ever and very excited about this site!

Welcome! I'd say the best way to help your dreams overall and to help lucid dreaming, is to keep a dream journal. The most important thing is that you actually remember your dreams, so recording them when you wake up is a great practice. There is an online dream journal on this website but I prefer to keep a physical journal, then upload them if you are up for it. I had my first lucid dream by practicing ADA(all day awareness). There is a tutorial on this forum somewhere but I am unable to post links for the moment. Have fun and good luck!

      Welcome, Dancer!

Dream journaling can be tricky work. You'll have to deal with actually recalling your dreams, as well as keep up determination to record them. To make it easier for you, you can write down only keywords when you wake up in the middle of the night, so you don't get woken up too much. Then you can fill in the details when you finally wake up in the morning. May I ask, are you having problems with recall the dreams or the writing them down part? Always keep your journal near your bed, you can even decorate it yourself to make it more special to you.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
