      Getting back into lucid dreaming

      Hello,

I'm a lucid dreamer from Denmark. Have experienced spontaneous lucid dreams as well as WILDs since I was a child. Also struggled with extended sleep paralysis upon waking, but didn't know the names of either of these things. Once the internet started developing, I started wondering about the SP as well as the unpleasant buzzing and drowning feeling I experienced sometimes when nodding off, and then I learned the terms SP, WILD and LD. All of a sudden, it all started making sense, and I realized that I wasn't alone with these oddities, as I had come to regard them after having asked lots of people if they experienced something similar but never finding anyone IRL.

Now and then I have used the info I've found online to work intently towards having more LDs, with some success, and now I'm back into one of those periods where I want more than just the odd spontaneous LD.

My plan for now consists of:
      1. Journal my dreams, especially for the purpose of discovering more dream signs, so I will notice them while dreaming. Some of my standard recurring dream signs (going way back) are trains, big cities with intricate and enlarged architecture, and being late for and almost missing trains, planes, boats, etc. (Hm, missing the boat? Never thought of that before. )
      2. Be more aware of opportunities for DEILD (I don't think the term existed last time I researched LD, but I know the technique).
      3. Work with magic pills/cookies to invoke certain abilities while LDing.
      4. Attempt to remember something lost/forgotten while LDing.

I'm sure I will come up with more things as I go along. So far, I had one semi-lucid dream as soon as I found this site, so just being in that frame of mind seems to be paying off. I expect a lot of interesting things to happen as I delve further into the world of dreaming.

Happy to have found your site. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hello and to DV. It sounds like you're already off to a good start. If you have any questions or need any assistance with the site, feel free to ask.

I really like the idea of the magic pills or cookies.

Thank you! I am excited to be here.

I read about the pill idea somewhere on DV. It is supposed to strengthen your belief in whatever you want to achieve. I don't have any trouble summoning, or changing scenes at will, but I haven't managed to fly yet, and I think something like a magic pill might do the trick. My daughter gave me the even better idea of a cookie, which came from a CD with bedtimes stories that are actually guided meditations and fantasy journeys for kids. I think I will use a clarity cookie next time.

I do have one question for you. Is it possible to backdate DJ entries in case I'm not able to post a dream the day I had it?

      Thank you Zoth!

I hope you're enjoying your cityscapes. I'm surprised at what I'm able to conjure up, considering I can't even draw a straight line IRL. I loved the cities in Inception because they reminded me so much of my own dreams. I posted a city dream today in my DJ.

104 days of LD effort and intention sounds great to me. I will go and read about it now.

Welcome to DV! Hope you have a great time here, the information here is priceless.

And like anderj101 said, you sound like your doing just fine. Just keep doing what you're doing and soon enough having LD's will be a second nature to you. Remember to keep your motivation up, and to come back and chat at DV! Remember the more thought you put into lucid dreaming the chances of having a lucid dream increase.
