Re starting my lucid dreaming from Australia

      Hello everyone,

My name is Richard and I have been an on and off advanced lucid dreamer for some time however about 6 years ago I gave it up.

Interesting that you can have all the power of your imagination every night and then just decided to let it all go.

Although my attention changed, lucid dreaming never really left my mind and I was always drawn back.

As I am now an adult and have control over my life I feel it is time that I pick back up this unbelievable skill.

I look forward to talking with you all further and seeing what new techniques have been developed in my absence.

My skills were mainly focused on Reality Checks and MILD, and sometimes a WILD.

I am also very interested in the idea of in depth dream control, not just basic lucid dreaming, and exploration as I believe there is something far greater going on that we are all a part of if we know it or not. With that in mind, if anyone else has an interest in Shared Dreaming, I would like to talk with you in detail.

Drop me a line and say hello, love to talk with you all further.

      Hello Richard, welcome back

Any lucids since you started again?
“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

Welcome back to the hobby, Richard! I can totally relate to your bafflement of why I abandoned this hobby years ago, since this happened to me as well, and I no longer recall why I gave it up. Getting back for me is not as easy as I had hoped - I hope it will be much easier for you. One thing I have learned is that it is tempting to assume that I know stuff about lucid dreaming already because I used to know it years ago, whereas apparently I forgot a lot of crucial stuff, so it is useful to review the basics and pay attention because there may be gaps there that I assumed were covered already. It is frustrating sometimes what our minds choose to remember and what they choose to forget. For example, I really think I could live just fine without remembering that song a friend taught me on the playground in elementary school, so couldn't my mind have used that chunk of memory to store some lost knowledge of how to lucid dream there instead?
You may say I'm a dreamer.
