First off, congratulations on starting on this fun adventure. Everyone can see progress in dream recall and lucid dreaming, so be patient and allow it to come at its own pace.
If you find yourself waking up during the night, this would be a good time to ask yourself 'What was I just dreaming?'. Keep at it with the mornings and perhaps consider experimenting with going to bed 20-30 minutes earlier or later, if you have the flexibility. If you get virtually the same amount of sleep every night, it may be that you are waking up from sleep while you are not in a dream - dream recall is often easier for beginners when they are fresh out of a dream, versus recalling one that was 45 minutes earlier.
