Just saying hello! And a quick question.

Hey everyone. I'm new here and have been trying out LD for just a day now... Starting RC and such.

Last night I know I must have had a dream.. although I do not remember it! I tried the technique where you think back right after awakening, but this did not work!

      Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Sometimes the memory of your dream fades too quickly. There's not much you can do if you completely forgot it right away. Just try again. The more you try, the more you'll start remembering. While you're trying to fall asleep, tell yourself repeatedly that you'll remember your dream when you wake up. We sleep every night, so there's no rush.

Oh, and welcome to the forums! I'm positive that if you stick around here and read all the great info on this site, you'll start having great dream recall, and lucid dreams.

      Hi Stevecip and welcome!

First off, congratulations on starting on this fun adventure. Everyone can see progress in dream recall and lucid dreaming, so be patient and allow it to come at its own pace.

If you find yourself waking up during the night, this would be a good time to ask yourself 'What was I just dreaming?'. Keep at it with the mornings and perhaps consider experimenting with going to bed 20-30 minutes earlier or later, if you have the flexibility. If you get virtually the same amount of sleep every night, it may be that you are waking up from sleep while you are not in a dream - dream recall is often easier for beginners when they are fresh out of a dream, versus recalling one that was 45 minutes earlier.

There are lots more tips around here and lots of people you can ask. Keep experimenting and good luck!

Learning to lucid dream since 2012.

Thanks a ton for the advice Michael! I will definitely keep trying to improve my recall and hopefully remember quite vividly as I understand that this is very important to lucid dreaming!

      Thanks again Michael!,

      Thanks for the welcoming RedNexela!
I'll be keeping in mind all of the above and continue to increase my recall! I'll post again if it improves!

      Thanks again RedNexela,
      Steve

Just wanted to give you a quick update on my dream recall!!

I just had a dream last nighr that I seemed to be at a sink and in front of a mirror. As I was there, I soon began to realize that I was dreaming and became lucid for a few seconds although everything became fuzzy and I guess I woke up from being excited.

The last two nights my dream recall has become great! As I am journaling all the time. And last night Ijust had this experience! So awsome. Now hopefully Ican stay lucid!!
