It stands for Rapid Eye Movement. REM sleep is the stage in your sleep where you do the most dreaming.

Uh.... sorry, but I really don't understand this. You want to try having a friend of yours spray something on your face while you're asleep? I've never heard of anything like this to improve either recall or lucidity, and personally speaking I think it would wake me up instantly to have someone do that. Is this some method that I've never heard of? Where did you get this idea?

I suggest that you take a look at the Tutorials section, and try some of the methods that are described in there. What works best for me is a combination of the MILD and WBTB methods.

No I guess I said it wrong. They spray it over my body so that when I breath in through my nose I smell that sent. I think it might trigger some kind of recall when my friend sprays it up in the air again when I am awake. I am sorry for your confusion.

Well, I guess it could be worth trying. As long as you're not allergic to whatever is being sprayed, then it's not going to hurt anything. But again, I've never heard of anything like this. I think there are probably better methods for improving your recall -- #1 being to keep a dream journal.

Anyone else heard of this method?

First of all, just the act of writing down your dreams will improve your recall, and the better your recall, the better your chances of having lucid dreams.

Also, you should review your journal from time to time to try and identify things, people, or places that appear commonly in your dreams. You can use these things as "dream signs", to help you recognize when you might be dreaming, and therefore trigger lucidity.

hey, you should also take a look at Stephen LaBerg's book "Exploring the world of Lucid Dreaming" they explain very clearly all this stuff. And of course it'll help ya out with all the other basic stuff.

Check out this link and scroll down to "Used" section(s).
I got mine for about $6usd

Also, insofar as spraying a perfume to try and alert the dreamer he/she is in REM, this is to try and get the person to notice a dreamsign (smell in this case) in the dream and hence bring upon Lucidity!

The NovaDreamer is a unique method/tool and does not need another person staring at you while you sleep (I coudn't sleep!)
The ND is a mask you wear over your eyes and has a set of programmable LED lights and audio alarm (beeping). WHen you are in REM, (the ND detects REM) the lights are signaled and will start blinking a series of flashes for several seconds. The goal is to alert the dreamer that he/she is dreaming and he/she will become Lucid.
Before you go to sleep, you need to strongly affirm that if Anything with Lights appear in your dream, then you will realize you are dreaming, and do a RT.
The flashing lights will appear creatively in your dream as , for ex. car tail lights, fireflies, streetlights, stoplights, disco lights, etc etc etc!
SO it is imperative you do strong affirmations regarding lights or beeping (if u use it) then you will realize you are in a dream!

I suggest waiting on the Nova Dreamer; new model is under development. The old one was sold to some company who jacked the prices more than double ($450.00 ouch!)
Or you can search on Ebay for some deals.
It will probably take some time to get use to, as it does most people. BUt, it is just a nifty tool that at least detects REM, and no other sleep stage.
As with anything, Practice practice practice!

      Hope this helps

so if you used nova dreamer for a while and it broke you would not be able to lucid dream. your friends would stay up for that long to you enter rem, and for every night you got some close friends.

      ...uh...yeah, ok...

For ME, I don't care to sleep with a bunch of people (in the same bed at least) let alone everyone Staring at me while

I guess that is something you have to get used to in Prison...???

I'll opt to change the battery in my Nova Dreamer...kinda hard to break it unless dog gets ahold of it!

And BTW, no, the ND is just a device. Does not mean you cannot LD w/o it.
Just because your car breaks down, doesn't mean you are immobile; you still have your mules (legs and feet).

      happy LD by whatever method
