Hello from dreamland... is this thing on?

Hello all, my name is Kit. I am 27 years old (soon to be 28), I live in Hunker, PA, USA, and I have been having strange experiences with dreams my whole life. I found this community by searching Google for others like me, and this is the closest I have been able to find. I look forward to having conversations with you all, and getting to know you better. I hope most of all that maybe I can find some of the answers I'm looking for (but I won't ask here, as this thread is for introductions). To say a little about myself, I enjoy gaming a lot (specifically MMO's like World of Warcraft), cooking, chatting online, traveling, and the smell of the outdoor air during Fall and Winter. My best friend is a kitty named Chibi, and my girlfriend is named Heather. We've all been living together for about 2 and a half years now. Before that, I lived alone... more-so in my mind than anywhere else. I have gone to college for computer science and applied technology, and I enjoy working with technology a great bit. I get a sense of joy from helping others, and I would like to think of myself as a kind-hearted humanitarian that has a general love for all humankind. I would like to see the progress of the human race and do my part to help it along. As I've said, I look forward to meeting you and having conversations, and hopefully making some new friends. Hi Kit! Welcome to DV! What kind of dream experiences do you have? Do you know you are dreaming (lucid), Or is it other kinds of dreams? I look forward to interacting with you more on the forum. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, and I will try to answer if I can, and if not someone else will. I hope to have a kitty someday too, for now I just have freshwater fish and snail tanks for pets.

Hi Joanna! Thank you for the warm welcome. My dream experiences vary greatly. About 40% of my dreams are lucid dreams, and the other 60% are kind of scary. It's hard to explain without typing out a very long post (and I will type one out in the appropriate forum eventually for discussion), but to give you an idea, it feels as if my consciousness is transferred to a different person. When I go to sleep here, I wake up somewhere else as someone else, for extended periods of time (which is the scary bit), s when I wake up here, it feels as if days, weeks, or even months have gone by, but it's only been one night. I was hoping to ask around and see if anyone else has had any similar experiences, but again, I will post more in the appropriate forums, and try to keep this one short and sweet for the purposes of introducing myself. I've checked out the IRC chat a bit, and spoke to a few people there, and I'm getting a feel for the community a bit, and I must say, I feel welcomed by everyone. I think this is exactly the type of community that I've been looking for. I keep a dream journal as well as a real journal, so I will start posting some of my dreams in a journal on here as well. Again, thank you all for the warm welcome, and I look forward to participating in the community a great deal!
