      Hello Lovely Peoples!

Hi everyone. My name is Cate. I found DreamView while doing another round of internet searching on REM and circadian rhythms (Because apparently I wasn't born with a functioning one. At least it feels that way sometimes.)

I've been recalling my dreams ever since I can remember. Most of mine are intense, lengthy, and lucid. My usual debate is whether I want to actually try controlling the dream I'm in or not. It usually takes a lot of concentration and energy so I oftentimes opt to just let my dreams play out, unless I really want to break away and go somewhere else. I've had a brief OBE, and some other creepy experiences, probably relating to SP and the hallucinations that sometimes come with it.

Unfortunately a lot of my dreams include me fighting and/or running from monsters, bad guys, ect, but I've learned how to do some cool things. I can breathe underwater (which helped me overcome my tsunami nightmares as a kid), I can control the elements to a certain degree (again it takes a lot of concentration and energy), I've shapeshifted (although that one I can't control), I can fly (most nights) and jump really high. I'm happy to share about all the people and creatures I've met, fought, and talked to in my dreams, and also hear about other people's experiences.

      Welcome to DVs!

      Use this mantra:

"The next time someone follows me in a dream, I will know I am dreaming."

Visualize yourself turning lucid in those dream/nightmares. You will find yourself lucid in one of those dreams, then just stop the run and ask whatever follows you, "What do you represent? What message do you have?" Whatever it is, it will speak it out to you
Click the door... and welcome to my dream world!

      Thank you!

I've tried to stop and face whatever is chasing me but I will admit, sometimes they're a bit too scary to confront. I can sometimes feel pain in my dreams so the thought of being stabbed, shot, or gnawed on feeds the fear. I think after all these years I've gotten used to running from it. Ha, says a lot about me. *shrug* I've been trying to force myself to be stronger. I think it might actually help a lot with my depression if I stop and face my monsters. Easier said than done, right?
