      Incoming oneironaut wannabe!

Hello everyone! One of my friends has been going on about lucid dreaming for years now, and I thought it was finally about time for me to delve deeper into the subject! I actually have known about lucid dreaming for a while now (and even know quite a considerable amount of techniques), but I am by no means a pro. I've never even tried anything properly myself until the past 2 weeks. So far I've only had one short, quick taste of a lucid dream but it's left me wanting more. I'm particularly interested in the idea of practising skills and problem solving in dreams, i.e. practising playing an instrument, solving a riddle asleep etc.

Oh. Another current obsession for me is learning the Chinese language & calligraphy. So there's that :p.

Aside from just helping me, I hope I can give some useful input back to the community!

Welcome to dreamviews. You can practice anything in a dream. I practiced oil painting in a dream before I ever did it. A friend of mine practices kung fu in dreams.

Thanks for welcoming me! Just curious, but have you tried oil painting since in waking life? Was it like your dream?

      Welcome to Dreamviews ThBeam

Congrats on that first taste of lucidity. It's comming for Lucid Dreams to be a bit short at first, but with practice and consitency things will improve. I've never personally tried using Lucid Dreaming to practice waking life skills, but I've read plenty of books and things online of people doing just that.

Have you read Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge? It's an awesome resource, and I believe he speaks on using Lucid Dreaming for improving waking life skills, etc..
