      I Have Found A Home

      Hello All,

For most of my life, I have felt almost completely alone in my dream experiences. Most other people just don't understand what I'm talking about when I describe my "other life". At this point, I have spent about 19 years of my earthly existence in that other place/life. I really feel that I am living two lives. Sometimes I'm here...sometimes I'm there. To be perfectly honest...I prefer there.

I have been lucid dreaming for as long as I can remember and I can still recall certain outstanding dreams that I had 35 to 40 years ago. It doesn't seem to require any special effort on my part...it just happens. From what I can gather, this is a rather unusual talent or gift when compared to the general population. I can't imagine life without this ability.

My dreams are always extremely vivid, full screen, high definition technicolor...complete with an active sense of taste, touch and smell...along with an extensive cast of background "extras" that often have surprisingly distinct personalities and talents that I myself don't actually possess. It's like starring in a movie where I am both the writer and director with an unlimited budget.

I have the ability to "serial" dream..meaning I can pick up where I left off the night before or even days later. I know how to fly and what it feels like to fly. I have experienced many OBE's to strange distant locations that I later confirmed as being real places. I almost always recall my dreams in great detail on waking.

I feel very fortunate to have somehow stumbled upon this website and this forum. Prior to today, I had no idea that this place existed. I look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge...and making new friends with people that have a common interest and understanding of such a fascinating and complex subject.
To live is to dream...to dream is to live.

      Hello,

Thank you for the welcome. I must assume that I am indeed a "natural" until proven otherwise. I will try to teach or at least "guide" others as time goes by. That may prove to be a challenge since I'm really not sure how I do it. It just happens without any conscious effort on my part.

      Kind Regards

wow....that's awesome, wish I had ur talent. I get many vivid dreams with a lot of detail, but I'm never lucid in them. and sadly, lately I'm finding that I'm recalling them less and less.

      Hi,

The fact that you have vivid dreams with a lot of detail is an indication that should encourage you in your quest to achieve a state of LD. Bear in mind that most people in general don't even have that...at least in my opinion. Keep at it...you'll know what it feels like when it happens. To use a very old cliche, it's kind of like learning how to ride a bicycle. Once you learn...you never forget.

Don't be discouraged by periods of no recall. I'll admit that I occasionally go through "dry" periods where I have an almost total lack of dream recall that may last (mysteriously) for several days at a time. I suspect that a person's total being sometimes requires a rest from everything that they may currently be experiencing in their lives. Maybe it's a protection mechanism that engages when our total life experience becomes too complicated or too stressful for even our subconscious minds to handle or sort out. In that case, the subconscious will temporarily cease to communicate with the conscious mind...or possibly the other way around. I could be wrong of course...but that's my gut feeling.

      Kind Regards
To live is to dream...to dream is to live.

Precisely! I don't intend to jump in as some kind of self-proclaimed "expert" without spending a considerable amount of time just lurking here to pick up the general mood and tone of a forum that I am new to. I have always attempted to live a life free from arrogance...whether it's outgoing or incoming. Know what I mean?

The "nes" in your handle stands for "Nintendo Entertainment System"...right? That would indicate the possibility of at least 118 other girls here who are also fans of the same game console. I will dream of you tonight...and try to understand . I'm an old fart of 57 and have 3 children (oldest 32) and 2 grandchildren. But Hey!...I'm still hip 8) . As human beings, we all dream...from newborns to the oldest living person...which I understand is now 115 years old and lives somewhere in Tennesee. WOW eh? That's about twice as old as I am now...and I'm already bored out of my skull!

      Best Regards

Yes, the Nintendo part of it us true...but 119 is actually suppose to be a specific date, that is suppose to be difficult to figure out.
      Whoa! That is pretty cool!!

      Hi Guy!

      Thanks for your response.

The fact that you can't remember half your dreams automatically implies that you can remember the other half! That's pretty encouraging in my opinion. The ancient wisdom of the Orient comes into play here. Is a glass of water half full or half empty? It all depends on how you choose to interpret the situation. Go for the positive and you can't go too far wrong.

My brother-in-law...a hell of a nice guy...consistently claims that he doesn't dream at all! I have repeatedly told him that it is virtually impossible for any human being to not dream in some form or another. He often looks at me like I'm from freakin' Mars...despite the fact that we are very good and close friends. When I attempt to describe the kind of dreams that I experience on an almost nightly basis...he looks at me like I just arrived from some other galaxy or dimension!

Whether or not I become a "prominent member of this community" remains to be seen. That is not my goal. I am here to learn and share with others. If I can ever achieve some kind of "prominence"...it would probably come as an accident...rather than by design.

      Kind Regards
To live is to dream...to dream is to live.

Well...let's see. The 119 could be a simple reversal of the infamous 9/11 date that I'm sure we're all familiar with by now.

Then again...it could be indicative of a birthdate such as 1/19...meaning Jan.19th (my own birthday is 1/20)...or possibly Nov.9th. Am I at least close?

      Hey there

First of all let me say that I understand how you feel. I think all lucid dreamers, and especially people with a natural ability to dream lucidly sometimes feel that way . I've had a period in time where I felt the same about honestly prefering being there over here (even though I dont control my dreams, its more so that over there its easier to feel free off the silly things that go on over here). I'm happy to say that lately I love this world just as much again ^_^

It seems that you are one of those naturals, that are not only natural lucid dreamers but also have a special talent to go beyond that. I too believe in something beyond the world of dreams that is certainly 'real'. And I think there is lots of positive to be experienced there, and it seems that you did/do!

It's good to hear that you like our community so much We'll try keep it that way for you We all have something in common, and this is the place to share, so, you've come to the right place indeedidio! ^_~

Enjoy your stay, and learn and teach lots!

      Hello Lucius,

Thank you for the welcome. I can't tell you how thrilled and happy I am to finally find a place where other people will understand what I'm talking about.

It's probably going to take a bit of time to review all of the information already here and get a feel for the place before I start to actively post very much.

      Kind Regards

I would love for you to start a Dream Journal on this site. Just go to the Dream Views Forum Index and then go to Dream Journal.
I understand if you dont have the time to keep it updated though.
