Princess Morning Sparkle - NEW 9/5/2005

Princess Morning Sparkle - NEW 9/5/2005

Hi, I am new. I worked to lucid dream with limited success for most of the 1990's.

I was able to find my hands a few times (a la Carlos Castendas). I read all of his books two or three times. I was able to stay conscious from one dream into the next only one time.

I owned (and used) a Nova Dreamer, I had lots of dreams with red lights in them. I kept a dream journal and always had dream trigger signals in my dreams, but rarely actually noticed them while dreaming, but would wake up excited just afterwards.

I wore a watch that went off every 30 mintues, and I would ask myself if I was dreaming, to help me ask myself while dreaming. This didn't really work.

The more I tried, the closer I got....but the more insane I became. I quit trying (mostly) in 1999. I am still VERY interested, however. It just made me too tired with the SLOW progress.

I no longer keep a dream journal. I remember my dreams about 50% of the time. I still have dream trigger signals occationally. Mostly, I wake up knowing that I had a dream containing something that totally didn't make sense (a generic dream signal), but did not notice this in my dream.

I don't know where or how to pick back up again (differently then I was doing it before) and actually have success, quickly. Any tips????

sometimes its best to just give up....

but if you really want to try i suggest WBTB or WILD, these have given me the most success

Hey, welcome to the board...as Santa said, sometimes, it really is best to just give up for a bit, take a break.
However, i don't agree with stopping writing in your dream journal. I know in my case, that actually hinders my recall...even though i remembered my dreams way before i ever wrote them down, i find now, since i've been writing them down, if i stop, my brain just gives up.
so i'd suggest you start keeping your journal again...if your recall slides, try the WBTB method (i find it kicks my recall back in pretty quickly)
The other thing is, you know you are doing everything right (or you will be, once you resume your dream journal) so from thereon in it's all a matter of confidence that you will eventually have a lucid dream. don't go to bed with it playing on your mind. Just keep it in the back of your mind, tell yourself that you will remember your dreams on wakening.
      Good luck!
