      New to (lucid) dreaming :)

Few days ago while browsing through threads from all kinds of things I stumbled upon a post where people were discussing their dreams and especially those 'lucid' ones. "Is it really possible to remember and actually control your dreams". I thought that dreams were always what they were for me, tiny fragments seen a couple of times in a month. Now after reading through numerous posts and articles about lucid dreaming in the past two days (mostly on this site) I think I have found my own hidden interest. In fact I never have felt such excitement and motivation for learning something. I have always been secretly interested in dreams but I never have been looking for any knowledge about them. But now here I am, looking for help and guidance.

I've started practicing all day awareness and reality checks and started to keep a dream journal. The awareness thing isn't that hard for me (assuming I have understood what it really means) but RCs (and 'questioning reality') won't happen so easily. I suppose those things are essential for lucid dreams but currently my dream recall is poor. Usually I never remembered my dreams but after really trying for the first time I could remember as much (or few) as 4 fragments each lasting only few minutes. I have no idea if that is bad or good for a complete newbie. At least writing them down took more than an hour in the morning (so much details or so bad writer...).
For learning I can use as much as 99% of my time if necessary as I don't have almost any obligations in the coming 2 months. I truly hope that 2 months is enough to have at least my first lucid dream.

I suppose that will do for an introduction. I just decided to write why I am here and what is my 'starting condition'. I would have so many other things to add and ask but I'm terrible at writing things on paper/screen (especially in English). So apologies for my poor English and clumsiness as this really is my first post ever on any site (how were I able to avoid that so long...). Please comment if I forgot to tell something essential.

      Welcome to Dream Views, Luzer!

      Welcome
      Induction Methods and Techniques

Ooh yeah, lucid dreaming is totally possible. Great to hear you're keeping a dream journal! Also, no worries about the recall; mine was like yours when I first started. Keeping a DJ is one of the best ways to improve your dream recall, so keep at it. Just make sure you write down every single detail of your dreams if you're having fragments.

Hey, if you're struggling with the awareness thing, you could have a look at these threads:

The awareness thing can also help with recall. See you around!
