Cheap Lucid dreaming machine - New Project,Reads your brainwaves, warns you when dreaming!

      Hi everyone:
There is a new kickstarter project in the funding phase regarding Lucid Dreams, and I think anyone who likes this world would be interested in having a look.
It is a headwand that reads your brainwaves during the night, and warns you when you are dreaming: "You are dreaming, take control" then if you want, wakes you up 10 to 15 min later so you can write down your experience.
Amazing stuff. If you help to fun the project now the item will cost half price than if you buy later after they are stabilished =)

      Its called "Luci kickstarters"

Pd: This is not my product, im a backer there in the project (people who help with the funding) but I really thought you guys will find it interesting, its the first of a kind!

Haha yes, I understand, and I always respect those, and if you want to delete this post I would understand, but I remember back in the time when I was trying to lucid dream without a device, I would have appreciated someone warning me about this, that's the only reason I came back to post here =)
I already got mine booked so got no benefits from anyone else getting that..
Also, that project is a very smart Idea, so if you want I can just remove the link and make a brief summary on how that new idea works and what we can expect.. as you wish, just tell me.
      Best regards!

Just removing the link is fine. Nothing wrong with discussing it, seeing if anyone has tried it and what they think about it etc. As long as it doesn't cross the line to linking ads, you're golden

It is a scam. I can tell because I have been documenting the effects of audio tracks on REM sleep for many years.

Much like the REMEE, they are selling people on the idea of lucid dreaming. Not a product that has been researched and (from their KickStarter page): "To our great surprise and excitement, the prototype produced a lucid dream the very first night! In the weeks of tests that followed, our prototype managed to produce a lucid dream the majority of the time".

As was said about the REMEE: "such scams hurt the public’s good faith in the development of real, evidence and science based lucid dream induction aids."

A lot of people will be very disappointed again when it does not work as advertised. An untested audio track played without proper preparation will wake you up. And the plastic headband will stretch after three nights of giving you a sweaty forehead. I tested two dozen headbands made from various materials before I found one that works. And they do not have any EEG data to show - I wouldn't be surprised if they are just randomly playing the audio tracks.

I have a superior product that records the entire night's sleep from a dozen sensors on top of detecting eye movements. And I can make it for less than they are asking. But I am nowhere close to producing a lucid dream the majority of the time.

If you want something that just plays an audio track when you start moving your eyes around in a dream, I can give you an app for free that can pick up the eye movements from a webcam or a phone's camera, by measuring the amount of change between each frame. But I guess people just want to believe...

It is going to be hard to measure eye movement with a camera unless it is attached to my eyes because i am most certainly going to roll around in my bed at some point.

I got excited about the project so i decided to check here. I am glad @Iamcoder that someone is being critical of the project. Since it costs atleast 150 dollar, i like to be sure i get what i want.

The device looks rather comfortable to me. The ear buds might be annoying when the side of my head is on the pillow. That is the reason i never wear them while sleeping.

Can you point me in the right direction into getting a device that measures my sleeping patterns? I really want a device that records different brainwaves during the night. Preferably as thorough as possible! I want details.

I would probably buy this thing, but i don't have a lot of money. IF it allows me to choose my own audio-recordings throughout the night. (I'm thinking binureal beats, tones, entrainment) Then i think i would really like to mess with this thing. If it can also give me detailed recordings of my brain activity i would be the happiest dreamer in the world..

For now, i will hold on to my money though. @Iamcoder . Do you have any suggestions for me, that can give me the sort of self-analyzing i want to do at night?

Get an OpenEEG device: [link removed]. Together with four active electrodes, one passive electrode and a USB cable, it costs 142.00 EUR. I wrote some free software that will record throughout the night. And you can choose your own recordings.

@Iamcoder - I have removed a link to merchandise, as it is not allowed to link directly to a seller. What you can do instead, is list the item name with some text that can be searched on. Like this:
"Low cost open source EEG device completely assembled USB interface - EEG-SMT - Many people are interested in what is called neurofeedback or EEG biofeedback training, a generic mental training method which makes the trainee consciously aware of the general activity in the brain."

Searching on this text takes you to the product. Happy dreams.
