      Hello everyone!

Hey people. I just joined and am "somewhat new" to lucid dreaming. I found out about lucid dreaming about January, but all the reality checks never worked for me. And my dream recall is horrible. So I started trying the WILD method. Didn't work. I got kind of bored with all that so I tried to have an OBE. Still didn't work! The furthest I've gotten in an OBE is where my arms and legs start having no feeling and I feel like I'm floating. But my stupid saliva always ruins it! I always have to swallow when I'm laying on my back.

But anyway enough about my rant. Hello everyone!

Hey Alaska! Welcome to dreamviews, sorry to hear about misfortune when it comes to recall and the like..
I noticed that you were having difficulty with both WILDs and OBEs, I'd like to point out that these things are very similar and in most ways are identical. As for your saliva problem have you tried having your head on a tilt so that the saliva naturally flows down your throat, without the need to swallow? Another option is to jam your jaw shut somehow and then release and relax it and just let the object keep it jammed shut. I hope I've given some form of insight.. I try.

      Welcome Alaska!

Don't lose heart yet, as there is much more to successful lucid dreaming (including WILDs) than just doing RC's. I hope you get a chance to look around the forum at all the various tutorials (including my WILD class and my Lucid Dreaming Fundamentals thread, both of which I humbly recommend you check out)... LD'ing (& OBEing, which is indeed quite similar in practice) is all about self-awareness and getting your mind in the right place, so there might be some things to learn before you start trying to WILD or, worse, before you lose interest or give up.

So: if you are having trouble getting started, it might just be that you have a second look at the basics. Good luck!
