      Hello there!

Hey. Been interested in lucid dreams for a long time. Don't put much stock in OBEs or Astral Projection, so this site caters perfectly to me, especially since it boils out the extra stuff.

Unfortunately, my family has chronic sleep problems it seems, and though I'm not sure if this is from stress coming from lifestyle, or chemical imbalance or what, I know it affects my dreaming ability. Mostly, I'm a creature of a night. It's hard to keep awake in class, but once nighttime hits, man, I am all over the place.

I've had many, many many instances of going 'oh, this is a dream'. It's then followed by me spinning like mad, rubbing my hands on my chest, and shouting like mad that I'm asleep and need to stay that way. I have always woken up though. I have terrible dream recall, and haven't been dilligent in keeping a journa;, because I'm afraid that if I wake myself enough to lucidly write, I won't get back to sleep, and I need sleep to get through my senior year of high school.

My purpose for wanting to more regularly learn to lucid dream (naturally, I want to do it every night and every nap, but I have a feeling that could be a naive ambition. But hey, shoot for the stars right?) is to improve myself. Play lucid dream concerts to improve my live guitar playing, rehearse singing (just started, heh) as well as practice physical skills. I would like to explore the idea of exercise in dreams as well. All this in addition to exploring my mind and perhaps helping me with my sleep problems, and becoming, as we all would like to be, more confident, and so on. I would especially like to be able to do it for stress reduction, and I will be joining the United States Marine Corps after I graduate, and will need all the avenues of stress relief I can get, I don't believe in drinking, sex (although, the occasional dream indulgence, I cannot deny will probably happen, ), or most avenues of releasing tension that military men generally pursue, so, well, yes.

I have tried so hard in the past, but have gradually drifted to other things. My passion is more focused now, I think, but I feel that I'm going to need to find alternate ways to help me attain lucidity than most others, because of my sleeping problems.

      I'll see you all around!
