Hey vixen,
This does sound like daydreaming but I know that I'm asleep while it's happening[/b]
By definition this would be lucid dreaming. However, sometimes I have this kind of thing happen to me in the morning as well, except I feel more like I'm half asleep. It's more like daydreaming while in meditation - or creative visualization.
Most people experience very exhilirating feelings once they become "aware" in a dream and go lucid. You may feel (what I call) the "surge" - a quick pulling or lifting of your body, yet, you're not moving. Also, elements in your dream should become very clear and fine detailed. Senses should aslo feel real - like you're actually there: touch, smell, taste, etc.
Either way, you're either there or very close.
As for the morning dreamer - our dream stage (REM sleep) is at it's longes and strongest in the morning hours. So this is why you may think you only dream in the morning, but actually you're dreaming 4-6 times throughout the night. Your most intense dreams being in the morning.
Good luck!
