Yerba Mate for greater dream recall?

      Hello,

I've noticed alot of talk about herbs and teas to aid in dream recall and to increase your chances of going lucid. I was just curious if anyone out on this forum drinks Yerba Mate (a South American type of tea that is traditionaly drunk from a gourd). It is extremly healthy and has many chemicals and enzymes in it (of which I can't remember). Any way some of its properties include curing insomnia, increasing concentration, and it does a good job at relaxing you. These are all things you are looking for I would suppose. I havent had any since i've started practicing lucid dreaming so I figured I'd just throw the idea out there.

P.S. Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I figured it being only my second post I'd keep it here.

      Thanks,

      Nick

No worries! Welcome to DreamViews. Yes, there are several herbal remidies that are supposed to help in dream recall. I feel however that in order to a tea to help, it must be correcting some type of chemical imbalance.

A healthy diet and daily multivitamin should be all you need to maintain balance.

Have you started a dream journal yet? Most people find that writing down your dreams each morning helps more than anything else.

      Hello,

Yerba Mate can be purchased at www.buyyerbamate.com and it can be bought at the international foods section if you live near a Wegmans. As a warning I'd like to say many people are turned off by the taste when they make it very strong. And yes I do have a dream journal which I tend to find very entertaining to try to decipher my unbelievably poor hand writing from 4:00 in the morning. Also has anyone else noticed how funny they phrase things when they are half asleep? Bah, anyway I'm getting off topic.

      Thanks for your replies,

      Nick. [/url]
