Hello i am a newbie who is very interested in Lucid Dreams

Hello newbies my name is Amir. I have had the pleasure of obtaining lucidity twice since i have heard about this concept. I first heard about lucid dreams through my friend. He told me that their is this invention which helps you become lucid. The invention is an eye mask thing that people use to cover their eyes from light, except this eye mask has a chip in it and when u are in REM sleep the chip detects ur eyes moving and a light comes on and when u see the light u know that u are dreaming. My friend told me that u can become really good at controlling your dreams. Has anybody ever heard of this invention, because i want to know if it works?

      Welcome!

The device you're referring to is called the NovaDreamer. It apparently works to some degree, but I've never tried it, so I can't give you a personal thumbs up or down.

Don't bother getting one of these, they're not necessary at all!
      It's totally freaking mental..Whoa..

It's simple like this: Believe you will have a lucid dream, and you will have one.

      Welcome, by the way.

Devices like that tend to be expensive, so unless you've got a lot of money laying around and can't otherwise become lucid, I wouldn't invest in one. Absolutely anybody can learn to LD without such devices, though the degree of success may be different person to person.

Also, it is VERY possible to become amazingly skilled at manipulating dreams. It's not terribly difficult, either. After mastering the basics of LDing, you'll be able to change dream scenery, characters, your own appearance, your abilities and pretty much anything else you can think of. Because LDs are only in your mind, you aren't limited by real-world constraints.

thanks for the information and responses.
Tsen are u able to manipulate ur dreams and do exactly what u were talkin about like changing urself and people and scenery. Cause if you can that is amazing and i would love to learn how to do that. That sounds kinda like the matrix. Being able to change clothes and see your residual image of yourself and get weapons.

Yup, I've gotten pretty good at it over time. It doesn't take all that long to learn--just practice Reality Checks, keep a Dream Journal, maybe try WILD, MILD or WBTB. Also, try checking out the Tutorials.
