      Herbal Supplements

I'm taking a couple herbs to combat insomnia. I was curious would such herbs as chamomile and valerian have a positive, negative, or neutral effect on attaining lucid dreams?

Valerian would either have a neutral or positive effect. I know it has a positive effect for some people.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.

This could depend on your sleep pattern Hilikus.
If you find that it helps you go to sleep that is obviously better that insomnia.
As far as any dreaming goes your REM sleep becomes longer in duration furtherr in the night. Provided you are sleeping. So. If these supplements help you to intially get to sleep and do not knock you out ALL night, it may help with dream recall and not have a negetive effect on lucid dream capabilties.
You can obviously determine how this has effected your dream recall. If it has you could try other sleep aids or cut back on the ones you are on now.

In the Tutorial section there is some advice on insomnia. --> Sleeping disorders

Also In the Pharmacy you may find more sleep aids --- > Pharmacy
