      Exploring human potential

      Hello all.

Since we live at the beginning of the end of this technological age and must prepare for the energy descent culture forced upon us as oil runs out and all the technologies we rely on fail, I'm interested in exploring the potential for humanity to create a new technology, built not on fossil fuels and electricity, but the power of the mind. I'm interested in such things as thermogenesis to stay warm, echolocation to see in the dark, mental control and energy manipulation to influence the autonomic nervous system, and the ars memoriae to greatly expand our memory. Of course, being interested in mental technologies, I could not ignore lucid dreaming. I am not interested in lucid dreaming as an end, however, but as a means to even greater technologies, similar to how you must first know how to create a capacitor to use the technologies that rely on that device. I am not quite sure what lucid dreaming may enable humanity to do, but I am always willing to push the perceived limits of humanity to new horizons. Lucid Dreaming already allows the practitioner to accomplish so much that it would be incredible if there were not new technologies able to be developed from it. Maybe some day we will have dream telepathy, shared dreaming, or a dreamspace similar to cyberspace, but much more real, like cyberpunk visions of virtual reality. Or perhaps lucid dreaming could be used to develop medical techniques by, say, implanting an energy packet in a certain part of the body that needs healing.

Well, whatever lies in the future, I am here to learn lucid dreaming so that I can explore, invent, and create. And of course, I do not mind having fun in the meantime!

In summary the power of the mind is infinite. The power of websites like these to assist people to utilise their mind for the benefit of others and the environment is also very strong. May peace and prosperity reign on earth for all beings together. The strength of the minds of people on this forum is really incredible. First off though we have to be careful what we create because it might just lead to further damage and be used in a wrong way. So instead first we need to purify our minds. Working with dreams is a great tool to purify the mind.

This is why mental technology is safer than physical technology. To get really deep into the mind, some ethical progress is necessary.
