      My First Post

I found out about Lucid Dreaming about 20 years ago as a teenager. Since that time I have achieved exactly three that I can remember and I can remember them all.

      1. I noticed a blue and green tile sheet that kept changing its patterns. I knew I was dreaming and then woke up.

      2. This one was a bit sexual. I will not go into detail, but I recognized that I was dreaming and woke up.

      3. In 1996-97, I had a one or two minute lucid experience where I was racing a jet plane in a beautifully clear blue sky. That was the best. I want to have more of those.

I have not had any since then. I think life kept me from persuing more dreams.

Welcome to the forum, Mr. Smith

Sounds like you already have a good feel for what lucid dreaming is like. I'm sure that by browsing the info on this site, and talking to some of the members, you will find ways to achieve lucidity and dream control.

I certainly know what you mean about "life kept me from persuing more dreams". Being stressed out and/or not getting enough sleep makes it very difficult to work on lucid dreaming. But as long as you keep the subject in your mind, you may find that it happens when you least expect it. And you'll never really forget how to do it -- whenever your life settles down (does that actually happen? ), you should be able to get back into it without too much difficulty.

      Thank you, Wayne.

Life never does stop, and getting enough sleep is always an issue during week days. I am still optimistic about being able to obtain lucidity.

      Hi moviesmith,

I'm just a newbie here and a lucid dreamer beginner.

I started a dream journal long time ago for different reasons than lucid dreaming, but it's a first step to start (or resume, like in your case) lucid dreaming.

I know that stress and commitments in the daily life take a lot of our time; but one has to think that every day we go to sleep, thus we have plenty of occasions to remember our dreams and work on LD.

Well, it sounds optimistic from one like me that has no LDs... But being optimistic is the very first step towards LD.

Have a good journey in your dreams!
