      Hi all!

Greetings folks! I just created a new account here and wanted to introduce myself! I have known about lucid dreams since long ago, and thought it would be cool to really have one. Recently, a few days ago, I got really exited about lucid dreaming and read forums and guides and stuff. I just did reality checks and have a dream journal (which has just a few entries since I'm starting). During this days I kept doing MILD at night, and (I think it is common) just had normal dreams (well, some of them were related to lucid dreams, like me talking with someone about it). Just yesterday, I tried the FILD method, I don't know if it was good for a begginer like me, but nevermind, I woke up like 4.5 hours after sleeping and performed the technique. After like 30 sec of doing it I did a RC, it failed. After some time, I did an RC again and it passed, then rubbed my hands because I got really exited, did the RC again but it failed, so I did the same thing again and the same thing happened. Except, that one time, I was in other place of my house, so I did various RCs and they all passed so I knew I was dreaming, I broke the window and started flying. The problem is, that it felt like a normal dream, just that I was a bit aware of it. I don't know if it was really a lucid dream because it didn't felt like real life, or vivid like I've read. So that is my little problem. I think I should have kept doing MILD but, meh, I don't know.

So thats what I've done and i'm happy to be here and hear your advice and stories!

      ^^ Welcome to Dreamviews, Iraika!

It seems as though that dream you describe was indeed lucid, though perhaps at a fairly low level. Contrary to stuff you might read in the forums, lucidity isn't about vividness, so you can certainly be lucid in a dream that doesn't feel like real life. Lucidity is all about the presence of your waking-life self-awareness in a dream, and that awareness can happen in the haziest of dreams.

It's also a good idea to stick with MILD, because it is an excellent all-around tool for lucidity.

Good luck in your journey -- it seems you're off to a good start! -- and we'll see you around the forums!

I agree MILD is really good. You should also experiment with WBTB times. I've had two lucids for two attempts with 7 hours of sleep then back to bed.
