      Am I lucid dreaming???

So I'm a bit confused. I've read up a bit on LDs and OBEs and I don't know if I'm having them or not. I'm 13 y/o, and I had my first weird experience, I was terrified. In the dream i "wake up" but as soon as I do, I become IMMEDIANTLY aware that I'm dreaming. The first time it happened though, I couldn't move. I felt stuck. And I didn't know what to do. It was as if my mind was working perfectly but my body wasn't responding. I'd try to will myself to move and my legs would only twitch or shift a bit. To wake myself up, I had to attempt to scream as loud as possible, though when I did, it sounded far away. But then I wake up. However, in these dreams, despite the fact that I know I'm dreaming as soon as I "open my eyes" in this state, despite the fact that there's nothing alluding to the idea that somethings off, I still can't move. But I can still think and look around, I just can't move my body. Now when it happens i sorta pep talk myself or just inwardly groan and thrash until I can wake myself up. Also when I "wake up" in this state, I've "woken up" in My bed, my sisters bed, my friends living room floor, my kitchen floor, and my basement floor, though it's often just my bed, and when I actually wake up, I'm in my bed (unless I have to thrash so hard to wake up that end up on the floor. My dream body doesn't move, but I can process in my mind that my real body is trying to move as much as possible)
So my question is, am I having a LD, or is this something else? And if it is an LD, how do I learn to control it and actually move?

      Firstly, welcome to Dreamviews!

The fact that you have 'woken' into other beds and other rooms in places not your home where you definitely have not fallen asleep tells me you are definitely seeing a dream. And the definition of a lucid dream is to be aware of the fact that you are dreaming. So yes, you are lucid dreaming.

As for the second part of your question, I would suggest reading up on the various lucid dreaming techniques we discuss here. there are great tutorials for DILD and WILD and all of their variants in the Dreamviews DV-academy. Read through them and when you find a style you think will suit you then go with that for at least the first few weeks.

Congrats, looks like you are lucid dreaming. At least some parts of it.

Try to move without trying to move your physical body. That will not move when you are asleep and dreaming. Give your muscles mental commands to move. As if you were normally going to move, but stop short of actually trying to move muscles. You can also try to levitate or move without thinking of muscles at all. Just simply by imagining yourself floating away or standing up or rolling out of your physical body.

      Good luck.

This sounds like a mixture of lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis.
Did I understand correctly that you are able to open your eyes, but you're still unable to move?
Do you ever open your actual eyes while dreaming during this?
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.
