Long time lurker, I finally decided to make an account and get more active in the community. I've been trying on and off for a few years to lucid dream, but honestly, I never really put in the consistent effort needed to do so. I've been semi-lucid a few times and had a false awakening or two, but nothing to write home about. Hopefully engaging in this community will help me along that path. Not only do I hope to learn a lot, but I think that the more active I am regarding lucid dreaming (such as DV community) the more my brain is going to take the hint that LD is important. My LD efforts were put on hold for a few years so at this point I'm working from the ground up (little if any dream recall). I'm trying to learn from my past failures by not biting off more than I can chew. That is to say, instead of obsessing over becoming lucid, I'm going to first focus on the foundation. Improving my dream recall, writing in my Dream Journal on a daily basis, incorporating reality checks into my life and overall increasing my awareness. There is a ton of info out there, so ultimately I want to find a concrete "plan" that I can work into my everyday life on a consistent basis. Really take advantage of all the experience and knowledge here. I'm incredibly excited to begin!
