just saying hi and sharing my last dream...

Hello, I'm new to this forum, I've found so much helpful information at this site! I have always been fascinated by dreams, and I've had several lucid dreams before, but they never last very long. I am hoping to become better at it. I've started doing "reality checks" throughout the day. I've found that I tend to slip into a sort of daze during the day, into a kind of work mode. I have been taking breaks and forcing myself to "become alert" for awhile, taking a few minutes to think clearly and really notice things around me. It is similar to becoming lucid in a dream.
Last night I had the first lucid dream I've had in awhile, and it started just like my alert moments! I guess this is working for me. I realized I was dreaming, and remembered that I had read somewhere to focus on the floor or noises around you, so I tried that. It stayed clear for a bit, then faded as usual.
I'm looking forward to sharing what I'm learning, and I hope to develop these skills! It's such an exciting world.
