      Newbie here...

Okay...I think I have everything set for the first time I try this...but I have some questions.

First....lucidity and reality checks. When you start the dream, do you wake up in your bed where you fell asleep? Or do you just get up and go through your daily routine before noticed that you are dreaming because you have a purple dog, and then you gain control?

Second...how long do they last? And is it possible to alter people with practice, like if I wanted to be taller?

      Thanks in advance...

if your planning on lucid dreaming by reality checks(known as DILD) then yes you just go about dreaming as normal untill you notice something(e.g purple dog) which lets you know you are dreaming and then you might gain controll, but if you.re anything like me then it might be possible to notice a milloin purple dogs and still not realise you're dreaming thats just the way it is sometimes. if you have desent dream recall i suggest trying WILD
      or

      WILD

      Welcome to the forum, Jehuty.

Usually, you don't wake up in the bed, unless it is a false awakening. You usually are doing something, whether it be routine or fantasy b4 you might realize you are dreaming (unless it is a WILD you are doing).
LDs can last differently for some people than for others, but the average is between 10 mins, & an hour & 1/2. Some people can actually have it a bit longer for certain reasons.
The answer to that one is yes. You can pretty much do anything you want to in a LD, as long as you believe you can. It is pretty hard to master the first time around, though, so don't be discouraged if you LD, but you can't control it.
