I haven't experienced this (as I'm not often lucid). However, I would suggest that if you become lucid, feel free to remain in the knowledge that you're dreaming, but just let things continue on. Try not taking control and see what happens.

I don't believe the problem is that you dream. Everyone dreams. Just experiment with nights where you take control and nights where you don't take control and see if there's a difference. Let us know if you see a pattern, too! I'd love to learn and see if this is true.
