      The New Guy

Hi, I'm new here as you can tell and figured that I would introduce myself . I have been trying to lucid dream ever since I had an odd experience with a friend that I believe to be symbolic shared dreaming and his friend who was also in the dream claimed to remember something too.
Anyways that was around the end of January. I did a search on dreams because of this and ended up re-discovering lucid dreaming. Mind you I had already known about lucid dreaming for awhile and this experience made me concentrate on it more.
Anyways after about a week of practice I believe I had an extremely short lived WILD (about a second) where I became lucid in my visualization I was using to relax. Now on Friday I got one that was fairly short because of getting hyper which isn't really like me so I think I was in a low level of lucidity anyways. It was actually triggered by a short burst of lucidity I had where I programmed myself to become lucid once I did something soon to come in the plot.
On Sunday and last night I tried a method where you sleep on your side (I did my left side down which I think does have an effect.) I also was on my harder pillow and asked my subconscious for an LD. Both times it worked!
On Sunday I had two both of which were short but not very short. The first was about 2 minutes (give or take) long and was interesting because I noticed an inconsistancy and had doubts of me dreaming because I was in a dream version of my house rather than the usual make-believe environment. I looked out the window and asked myself if I could be dreaming and my dream dad piped up saying, "Of course you are, you're just in denile of the possibility."
I ran to my bedroom and tried to put my hand through my desk as a reality test because my dad has an odd sense of humour. Man that was fun, it was like putting my hand through a localized, thick goo. This is when the dream dad came in and said it was time to sacrifice me and I got a dream flash of a dungeon.
I started spinning in circles and asking to go into my favourite show then the dungeon came into my mind and I thought, "Not there," over and over. The area felt different but not like what I would expect the target to be. I stopped anyways and guess what? I was in the dungeon!
The other lucid dream I had that night was short lived because as soon as I went, "I'm dreaming!" the dream character version of my friend said, "Then you won't mind if I do this!" and grabbed me by the throat and slammed me against the doorway. I had three other dreams that night but I'm trying to keep this short.
Then last nights was long but with periods of low lucidity. To summarize it I tried to go into my favourite show again and instead manifested the main character who decided to try and kill me. I tried to manifest a sword and instead, after a few tries, manifested a cylinder-shaped stress ball that, when squeezed, had a light saber extend from it. I like to call it the squishy-saber. 8)
I then ended up defeated and ran to my dream relative's house. The cousin (who wasn't even based on a real cousin) knew that I knew I was dreaming and asked to come back to the real world with me as a split personality. I transformed him and he left me alone . Then I looked out the window to see the guy from my favourite show (inuyasha) sleeping with the neighbourhood dogs .
Well tonight instead of just trying to do spinning and closing my eyes and opening them I think I'll try the around the corner method. I hope that this wasn't too long or misplaced. Sorry, I'm new.

First of all thank you for all the warm welcomes.
Seeker: Yeah, I wonder why they decide to go all, "Grrr... RUN AWAY!" on me. But yeah that is a little odd. I've heard of it happen before though. Everyone in my dreams seem to know that I know I'm dreaming and noone is any longer neutral to me. They're either nice or evil. Or in the case of the fake cousin nice but with a creepy agenda. Oh well I'm sure that my dream control will improve soon. Maybe I should try and remember to raise my lucidity before trying to do anything.
