      meet God while having LD

I`d like to know if anyone of you did ever try to gain knowledge while having a lucid dream?
I mean if being lucid can lead you to a kind of enlightment-experiences. Is it possible to tanscendate your dreaming ego in a LD? And does it have an effect on our real ego?
If reallity is an illusion perhaps the dreamworld could be a key for us to be aware of this.
Hoewer, how can LD be used for such things, or am I completely wrong?!

I’ve had a dream where a being shrouded in white light descended from above and told me the cure for cancer. I doubt that’s contact with a form of "god" but it could be interpreted as a very spiritual moment.

You don’t necessarily have to be lucid for dreams to be enlightening. I have had plenty of enlightening dreams in which I never became lucid. Its about recognizing the signs and interpreting what they mean to you. My dreams have helped me solve internal and external problems on almost a daily basis.

As far as transcending the ego through LD, I don’t see why its not possible. But the effects on your waking ego is indeterminable. The change would be what you made of it.

I have found that LDs are best used to help you understand and deal with your everyday life. I say this due to the fact that most things that manifest in my dreams are things that I deal with everyday. Aside from the occasional "cure for cancer" like dreams that seem to come out of the blue, my dreams are very domesticated.

Never sell out reality as a faulsity. To live in a dream is to forever be lucid.

Anything that happens in your dream world-in my opinion-is something that you have made up without knowing it. You can't really gain enlightenment, but you can gain access to your subconcious and find out things about yourelf that you didn't know.

I had a dream about my own death. In it a angel or some being that was a guide in the dream took me around a possible future. I was shown what was possible with my real life abilities and then I was asked a question of why I let them go to waste. I was shown my own death as well without knowing who caused my death or why my death happen. The decisions I made after the dream was do I run from my own life and hide which could cause my own death or do I run to the path of death and accept that someday my own passion is going to get me killed?

In life wisdom isn't just the knowledge of ones ownself but the way we live life how we want to. I rather run towards death then be afraid of it. If I gave up on the people I know and the people that need me then how would my own death be worthy of the life given to me? I have seen my own visions of heaven, but the question shouldn't be if I was really there but how much of my own self created that dream? When we dream about God or want to meet God how much influnce do we have of what we invision as a God? Even if one is Athiest and dreams about God there is still their own influnce that plays in creating that image or view of something beyond this life that we know about.

P.S. I do like the movie dogma take on God.

That's pessimistic. Lots of types of cancer can be cured permanently without any problems... I have a friend who got thyroid cancer; and he's going to be fine with just hormone treatments! (Whether he'll be fine *during* the hormone treatments is another story. Poor guy.)

Hehe... well if you must know, what he told me was, and I qoute ; "Cancer is our species way of culling ourselves. After we have decided subconsciously that we are of no use, that our lives our meaningless, that our pursuit in life is over, a chemical reaction happens that produces cancer in a weakened part of the body.”

So I guess its not really a cure so much as a method of deterring. But its seems a bit unfathomable considering what I know about cancer.

At the level of Lucid God you should be controlling ALL your dreams ALL the time (in my humble opinion). So in essence, meeting God is meeting your SELF.
What a long, strange trip it's been.

only one way to find out for yourself.

i see lucid dreaming as a very potent state through which to view my traits and prejudices. awareness freed from luggage is god, IMHO. lucid dreaming may prove to be a way to acheive such a state of enlightenment.

"Dream Power" -- the book by Dr. Ann Faraday is out of print now, but it was a very influencial book back in the seventies and it primary premise was that dream work would indeed have an effect on the waking personality and being.

I've had a number of Spiritual Experiences in my dreams and I would have to say that I could not imagine how their influence could slop over and influence my Waking Reality.

In cases of Euphoric Dreams, the feeling of well being follows one throughout the day.

In dreams which provide a Moral Epiphany then the benefit arises from having incorporated a new and beneficial moral insight.

And in Dreams of Spiritual Initiation, where Chakras and Power Centers are opened up, I have found that they stay open well after waking. A Dream Guru once told me that just a few seconds of Dream Meditation is worth thousands of hours of Waking Meditation, and I have found that to be true. Now, some practicianers of various forms of Mass Media Useless Meditation have written in and complained that they had tried their Form of Meditation in a Dream and got nothing. Well, duh. If one practices a form of Meditation where a thousand hours of Waking Practice will achieve nothing... But with all of the well established forms of Kundalini or Chi Meditation, a few moments of practice in a dream are amazing. Here, check out this one particular Essay from a series of Essays on Lucid Dream, this one applying specifically to Meditation: http://www.sawka.com/spiritwatch/inductio.htm

Then there are Dreams which affirm some Divine Consolation, Revelation or assurances of Divine Sponsorship. If God comes to one in a Dream, through the agency of some Magnificent Angel as usually occurs, then it is almost bound to have a lasting influence. The best instances of this are with people who have had Near Death Experiences of a Religious nature -- they become quite altared by their Experience. Having a Dream of equal caliber is rare, but not unheard of.
