      false awakening help?

I just had one last night for my first time. I still dont understand them to much. I have been seeing people getting angry when they have them? Why is that? People also say that the lost their chance for attaining lucidity when this happens? Is this true? Any help would mean alot.

A false awakening can be a prime time for having a lucid dream. If you can get in the habit of doing a reality check when you first get out of bed, you can identify immediately whether or not you're having a false awakening. If you do not do a reality check and assume that you really are awake, only to find out later that you indeed were still dreaming, you can feel like you've been "cheated" out of a lucid dream.

It might. The idea is to get yourself so in the habit of doing RCs that you will do them in your dreams, and hence realize that you're dreaming. I've never had much luck with that myself, but other people seem to.

More important than the frequency of yoru reality checks, is the investment of thought you put into it. When you do a reality check, be ver serious and think ahrd on it. Dont "run through the motions"

I agree. If you just get yourself accustomed to performing the check and having it fail, you'll get the same results in your dreams. Every time you do a reality check, think of where you are, how you got there, what you're doing and why you're doing it. Think of where you are in your day, and what obligations you have for the day. Remember which ones you've done and which ones you still have to do. If you come up with a blank, that's a pretty sure sign you're dreaming.

Not fade like all my dreams” —Rush
