      Hello all...

I am a new member from Redmond, WA. I stumbled onto the topic of lucid dreaming because I was on a gaming forum and someone posted a link to an mp3 that supposedly provokes lucid dreams. I became fascinated by the subject, though skeptical.

I felt that anyone claiming the ability to become self aware within a dream and take executive control over it and live out a waking fantasy as they create it must be boasting to impress people and were likely lying as well.

Then I found this site and I clicked the "Forums" link. (This is my usual test for the initial "legitimacy" of a site - is the forum well trafficked?) When I saw 5 digit numbers in the post counts of each of the top forums I realized that there was something very real and legitimate about this after all.

Now I am hooked. Regardless of whether or not I will have success achieving LDs, I am completely fascinated at the prospect that humans do indeed have "executive control" over their dreams, and merely need to learn how to exercise it.

What a telling statement it is about the true power of the mind.

Thanks for the wealth of information, and I'll be seeing you in the forums.

Hello and welcome Klonoa. I also found the DV site which lead me to this forum by accident too. I also became fasinated with the idea of being able to control your dreams. When i first joined i knew nothing about LD'in WILDS, MILDS.
After many months of practice and all the help from a great bunch of people on this forum, i was soon able to start experiencing with them for myself.
I now have lucid dreams about 1 once a month, Im still trying to learn how to manipulate the surroundings in my dreams, and have alot to learn still. But i've had some pritty intresting LD's.
Any help you need in getting started, just ask

      WELCOME

      Hello Klonoa.
Wether by happenstance or not I am glad you found Dream views.
Many people are skeptical. As was I. Fortunatly I had beginners luck & had a LD the first night I was intrduced to it. Otherwise I ,being skeptical may have not gave it a chance.
So believe me it is indeed real! I hope for your succes!

      Welcome, Klonoa!

It's interesting the wide variety of experiences and viewpoints that people have about lucid dreaming. Some, like you, are skeptical that it's even possible. Others have lucid dreams naturally, and are surprised when they find out that not everyone can do it easily.

In any case, we're glad you're here, and I look forward to hearing about your quest for lucidity. There's a lot of good information here, as well as helpful members, so I'm sure that you'll find what you need to help you on your journey. Good luck!

Welcome to Dream Views Klonoa Lucid dreaming is truly very powerful. I love when you said
What a telling statement it is about the true power of the mind. [/b]
that sums it all up. We have great power over ourselves and minds, but many people do not realize the potential. I am glad you have.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I can't wait to start my journal, though it seems lately I almost never remember dreaming at all. I know that this is not actually the case, but I'll have to try harder. I feel like I have taken a glimpse down a secret corridor when I remember a dream in detail, and I miss it.

I'll keep you posted on my progress, and I am certain to be asking questions soon.

Ps - would you say that the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" contains useful information not present on this site? I was planning on picking up a copy but have noticed how thorough the site is...
