      2nd Attempt: Spinning

Here we go again. Last night I tried the dream spinning method to "boot up my computer". I pictured myself in an open field with blue skies while spinning to try to keep myself calm. Almost, but no cigar. Woke up right after I felt like my soul jumped out of my body. Still ended up with sweaty palms, feet, and a racing heart. That whole thing took about a half hour. Got any suggestions?

Hmm did you close your eyes?
I woke up last time I closed my eyes.

Whoa. Spinning. THis just triggered a memory.

I remember myself standing on some endless plains, and trying to spin to get somewhere else. WTF? I was lucid without rememberring?? Noooooo!!!

I tried spinning the other day for the first time. I am not sure what it is used for exactly. Usually to get to a new place I form a door in a wall and go through. Well, I was outside. What I did was spun then imagined I was at another place and I went there. I was only there for a minute before I woke though.
Still trying to decide on a sig.

How is this: If you can't beat them join Lost soul.

I tried spinning only once, but It didnt improve lucidity, but I was in a very crowded gym change room. ALL people around me said "we feel it"

I jumped into another scenery soon thereafter.
      that's my experience.

Yes. I remember one time when i was trying to teleport and i closed my eyes and i woke up...DAMMIT!

And then i was putting on a sweater, became lucid and i think half way closed my eyes...and half way lost the dream...then it just faded.

yeah spinning doesnt work for me (based on the fact ive only tried it once) when i did it the dream started to fade so looked at the ground and my hands quickly which stabilised everything. As for teleporting ive not tried it, i usually just wonder about untill i get distracted by something interesting.
Im a bit like WindowsXP, I can sort of multi-task but every now and then I crash.

Spinning is suppose to be a popular technique for people who want to change their dream seen. I have tried it three times & every time I quite spinning, I was in thte same place that I was origanally.
If I could truely convince myself I would end up somewhere else, chances are I would. You have to believe in anything that's going to happen!!!

This is true although spinning can create an alternate dream scene the most effective way to utilize this technique is for maintaing the dream state once you've noticed the dream start to fade. However close your eyes without spinning and imagine an alternate location will utimately transport you to your newly imagined scenerio that you've created.

I tried it, did work for me, lack of concentration maybe?

Now I know what I did wrong... ...didn't focus on what I wanted done.

      Good luck.

Don't beat yourself up about it you're going to get plenty of opportunities to work it out. Just take it slow. Don't rush it and remember don't get too excited when you finally realize you're dreaming.

      Spinning

The best way to use spinning is not so much to change your scene, but to keep you lucid if you feel like you are waking up (though it may change your dream scene too). It usually works really well if you use it in this way.

      thats sound advice...
used spinning 3 times successfully to change dream when fading....
      2 changed scene completely...
other one was same room but hanging upside down off the curtains...
rubbing the hands is good for stabilising as is looking at the ground...
entering lucidity in dark surroundings recently...
simple rubbing of the hands quickly enlightens the surroundings!
