      Fake Lucidity?

Twice now I've attained lucidity in my dream, and the shock has sent weird tingles all through my body and I've woken up. Both times it only took a couple of minutes before I began to doubt that this had happened, and wondered whether I had just woken up and imagined it afterwards.

The second time, I tried to hold onto the dream by spinning around but it was quickly replaced by a montage of (if I remember correctly) buildings and mountainsides. I then woke up.

Do you think this was actually lucidity, or just my mind trying to get back into the dream after I'd already woken? I'd hate to think that it was just my imagination but the memory of it isn't vivid enough to be sure.

Sounds like a brief excursion of lucidity. its quite common to wake up from excitement. When I become lucid I just start walking. If I dont do something Ill wake up. But good try with the spinning. That usually works and it sounds like it almost worked for you.
