I have no problems recalling my dreams, but never get lucid

I was introduced to lucid dreaming by one of my friends at work , I found the experiences he described were intresting and wanted to have a try my self.

I've been keeping a dream journal , I tried for about 3 weeks from having no dream recall at all to having 3 a night. However I have never experienced a lucid dream , I've been reading up on dream signs and what they mean, when having a dream I can find signs that I'm dreaming , but then I just wake up.

From their I'm stuck and cannot continue any further , can anyone help or do I just have to give it more time...

Hey there Wayne (that's my name too ), and welcome!

You say that you find signs that you're dreaming, and then wake up. Does that mean that you actually realize that you're dreaming right before you wake up? If so, then congratulations, you're already having lucid dreams -- short though they might be.

Now you just need to work on prolonging the dream once you become lucid. Have you read through the Tutorials section of the web site yet? I would highly recommend that -- there is plenty of good information there for inducing lucid dreams, maintaining them, and controlling them.

Even if you are not actually becoming lucid before you wake up, it sounds like you are very close. What methods are you using to try to induce lucidity?

Thank you for your posts , I've taken up your suggestions and have taken a look through the site tutorials.

I've spoken to my friend about it and suggests I perform reality checks during the day. This should encourage me to do the same in my dreams.

Where as before I was trying to use dream signs which then made me aware I was dreaming. Only the dream ended...

when looking through the site I noticed another method WILDS , however I'm told this is for advanced dreamers.

I hope reality checks work ...

WILDs are difficult. In fact, I would only recommend them if your getting bored with the other methods and feel you have mastered them. I personally believe that the other methods are much easier and end up paying off more than it takes to do a WILD. So don't even think about them for now.
