Yeah, pretty much. Just lay down and enjoy the show. The idea is basically what Mozzarella said, in that you want to just passively view the images. As you get farther into it you may begin to drift and actually not realize that you are seeing HI. Just be sure to occasionally remind yourself that anything you are seeing is HI, otherwise you might just drift off to sleep.
I've been attempting WILDs for a while now, so I'll share some of my experiences. For me, they start off pretty basic. Upon first closing my eyes I see a pattern blanketing my view. Something similar to the static you see when you change to a station on TV that has no channel, only it doesn't move so fast and is a faint yellow/green colour. After a few minutes I usually see short flashes of simple objects, usually eyes, that disappear as suddenly as they appear. Sometime after that, the color pattern starts "blobbing" and sort of melting and shifting into round amoeba shapes that are much more opaque than the initial pattern. If I can keep conscious past that, they get MUCH more vivid and complex. Also, they tend to animate at this point. I can recall looking at a setting sun peeking over the rooftops of some buildings and seeing the sun as though it were as bright and clear as in real life. It only lasted a few seconds but it was simply amazing that my mind could paint such a clear and realistic picture. Sadly, I've not made it much past this. It tends to stop and I just see blackness and get bored or lose consciousness.
You should try WILDing, it's really cool. I've never even succeeded in entering a dream through it, but the cool HI combined with the weird sensations totally makes it worth it. Anyway, I'm rambling and have to go back to work now.
