      new to this new sensation

since last nite 4.30am out with a m8, I have never considered lucid dreamin, but I'm so intrigued by it, the ablity to control you self in your dreams, flying, floating to places, going to other places flying, thats amazing, but here's the problem i see, what if the dream state attaches to you so much that you can't get back to your own reality, how would you know which is reality and which is a dream? is there some sort of a safety switch? a key word?

You can't get 'attached' to the dreamstate in the way you are describing. Nor can you get stuck in a lucid dream. A lucid dream is just like a regular dream, the only difference is that you actually have control of the dream and are aware that what you are seeing is a dream.
I guess it could be possible to become 'obsessed' by lucid dreaming.

Though this isn't too likely, it's far more likely that it'll just become part of you. Though I copuldn't think of a better thig to be part of me.

Do you mean like the movie Vanilla Sky ?

I think that is a kind of scary thougt, but I don't think it could happening in real life.
