Thread: Is lucid dreaming have anytihn to do with demonic stuff?!?!

No it doesn't have to, if you have read the faq on the main page I believe you would know this. It is a skill everybody has, and can learn to have.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but if you are going to ask a question like this, I don't think you should be trying to lucid dream.

Yes I've read the faqs, and i've researched it. But people keep talking about it as if it has to do with spirits and powers....sory...just wondering!

hah, it does sound a bit mystical at first.

I told my friend I was interested in lucid dreaming, and maybe being able to hypnotise myself to lucid dream, as is one of the methods.

And she said :

and hypnosis is connected to tarot cards and the like?

heh, I disagreed, I think lucid dreaming can be a wonderful expierence, plus, I quoted back to her, Then why does it matter if he can use anything against you? hah

I think its a psychology and scientific thing, not much to do with religion.

Basically, you are realizing your dreaming, the mantra most people have, I will have a lucid dream, or I am dreaming, is obviously harmless.

hah, one could argue daydreaming is just as dangerous.

Short answer : No, it isnt connected to demons unless you dream about demons ?

I thought it was a bit magical and about religious things at first also, exspecially the Astral and the OBE, but from what I've read about Astral and OBE, they sound like lucid dreaming mixed with FA hah,

So no, don't worry, it's not about demons and stuff... hehehe, unless you count that personal, Erotic Lucid Dream demon that keeps knocking

Even if LDing would be about spirits and power it still wouldn't turn you into one of satans worshippers is my guess.

The answer is an emphatic NO! It has NOTHING to do with demons or supernatural mumbo-jumbo. It is simply your conscious mind becoming aware during a dream.

And Razorback, I don't understand your response. Just because he's been given some misinformation doesn't mean that he shouldn't try lucid dreaming.

Some people connect lucid dreaming with spiritualism or paranormal phenomena. Some people with views of this sort post on this forum. Best to just ignore them

First off, welcome to DV, jiblin We're glad you're here.

You're definitely not the first person to ask this question, and as a Christian who believes in the existence of angels and demons, I will say no, LDing is not directly connected with the spritual realm. I believe that dreams are a "broken mirror image" of our waking lives, where we experience what we do in when we're conscious, but at a skewed angle. At any rate, the only way I think that LDing can be incorporated with the spiritual realm is if we choose to make it so. For example, one of my goals is to try and talk with an angel during an LD.

It's a controversial subject. I personally don't believe in OBEs or Astral Projections, though I have my own ideas about those. At any rate, that's all I have to say on the subject for now. Let us know if you have any other questions

I was wondering the same thing.

What I think happens when you dream, you enter an alternate dimension through a portal in your mind. When you go lucid you somehow stay in that dimension.

Just guessing of course... I am completely new to this. I will just have to try it and see what I think.

I wouldn't say it is demonic. I would say the only dimension you are entering is one in your own head, unless of course, you're somehow reading a real time book you left on the counter....and I see nothing demonic about that....just a jumpstart on your reading the book.

jiblin0451 do you assume that new age stuff is demonic? If so it is pretty closed minded. I don't belive in most new age stuff either but just because I don't belive it works or has any justification doesn't mean I think it demonic. People once thought the idea of the world being round was blaspheme. Turns out they were wrong.

That would depend on the dreamer.

Elsewhere on this forum is a poll about ethics in dreaming. If you read some of the posts, you'll see that quite a few people would be prepared to use LD to satisfy their sick urges to rape and murder in an LD scenario.

Not a quantum leap to a lucid dreamer who is into Satanism, using LD to satisfy his own urges/expectations.

LD attracts all sorts, but not all for the right reasons.

I guess so...I've been doing research on things that are demonic...its not at all waht people said it was...forget that I sadi anythinf about demonic...I metn with the new age stuff

No, New Age is a kind of "hippy" thing, with relaxing music and energy and you know.. all that BS.

LD is real and if you are not into the new age bs just dont go to the "beyond dreaming" subforum

New Age, from my understanding, deals with the spiritual realm on an individual basis. New Age thinkers believe the only god is "me," or that god is in everything and we need to find our own opinion of who God is.

When I first mentioned it a friend accused me of practicing magic . I told him that it's all about psychology not magic, he shut up about it after that. Since he studies psychology I thought he would understand it better than me and take an intrest, he said he was too busy

You're lucky, when I tell people they just think I'm crazy. They just don't have my innate curosity in these matters. Anyway, if anyone did approach me about LDing being demonic I'd have to tell them that they're crazy.

Well, lucid dreaming falls under that category of "If I haven't seen it it doesn't exist." Many/Most people haven't had a lucid dream, so it makes sense that they would not be open to the idea. Have you directed your friend to this site?

I mean, there are Christians on this site, for one thing. Do you think we'd be practicing lucid dreaming if it were demonic?
