      questiona

      im a new member

In my dreams, I recognize that a lot of the capabilities are mental. I dont however always come to the conclusion that its a dream. I have before, recent ones involved me waking up and trying so hard to go back but failing. So for an example: Ill be taking batting practice in baseball. I would only be able to hit the fence, but while doing so I conciously (i think) know I could will the ball over the fence ... yet at the same time I cant. Another example: Ill be swimming in a race, and ill only stay in the lead by a little bit. At the same time I say to myself 'I could just dust her if I wanted to'...yet I stay in the lead only by comparison.

as a note: my real life swimming + batting capabilities arent as close to as good as in my dream. i THINK im aware that hitting the fence is unrealisitic anyway so i might as well just go all out.

so my question is... is that just me THINKING im conscience of the capaiblites (and im observing like a movie) or am I really somewhat conscience.

Yeah in a way, you could be thinking you're conscious, but if by chance, you do come to the conclusion you are dreaming, you will become conscious in the dream!!

if only for a few seconds
don't expect too much at the beginning, you will only be concious for a few seconds, and then you'll lose it...
or you could, just like me, just dream that you are lucid...

welcome... and good luck, or have fun, or whatever

Well, there are what I consider semi-lucids, where you have some level of control in the dream but are not lucid. For example, I've thought in my dream, "Well what if this were to happen?" and it happens. Or, at times I know that I can control what is going on but I don't know that I am dreaming.

I think that if we experience these feelings of direct control, it would be prudent to do a reality check. It would be almost as the opposite of what normally happens in a lucid dream.

They sound more like a pre-lucid state than a semi-lucid state to me. If you start performing reality checks during the day, you should be able to tap into these moments of yours to gain Lucid Dreams.

"Pre-lucid" is a good term. I'll have to remember that one. But by that term, I'd think of it as a person's state of questioning whether or not they're dreaming, but hasn't decided that they are.

By semi-lucid, I mean that I was aware that something was out of the ordinary, but didn't exactly think that I could be dreaming.
