      New to LD

I stumbled upon this through a link on another message board and thought it was very interesting. Especially because I had a Lucid Dream once, a LONG time ago. I was only partially aware, and had little to no control over the dream itself, but I did know that I was dreaming. In any case, I'd really like to try this out, and attain lucidity again, hopefully some time soon. Any help people can give me would be very appreciated.

Edit: Oh, here's a little question biting at the back of my mind. How much does it really help to go to sleep telling yourself that you'll remember your dreams? I can usually remember at the very least one, if not two or three dreams when I sleep already (I'm young, 15, so I haven't begun to lose my memory of dreams just yet).

It helps very much. The purpose of it is to get your mind to take specific orders and listen to you for your advantage. Just do it, it helps.

I suppose I'll attempt that tonight then. Sadly, my sleep schedule is very erradic . School cuts it short, and weekends causes me to oversleep. My alarm does little. I found something that's suitable for a dreamlog though. I'll give that a go.

Come to think of it, I think I might have an idea what one of my dream signs may be. A large majority of the dreams I remember somehow involve being inside a videogame. Or the feeling that I am anyway. Even if the dream itself has absolutely nothing to do with it. Both which I had last night involved the same feeling, and I can remember numerous others. But I never really "realize" that things seem surreal until I wake up.

Hello, Welcome to Dreamviews. I'm pretty new to Lucid Dreaming too. The only advice I can really give is to Use your own technique of preference and keep a dream journal. You always have to be diligent though, and consistent with whatever technique you use.
As for the telling yourself to remember your dreams it has something to do with getting your subconscious mind to work for you. So your basically telling yourself to remember your dreams.
