      First Try, Results here

Hey guys, I'm both new to the forum and new to LDing, my friend showed me a few links about the whole concept of LDing and I thought that it might be interesting, because I have never really experienced anything but fear in a dream that I remember.

My friend gave me a link to an mp3 that was on the internet, called "Hemi-sync - Lucid Dreaming Series" , so I downloaded that file which was ~180 megs, 1 hour 30 minutes and went to bed with my headphones on and that file playing.

I followed the mp3, doing what the guy said to. I got to the 1-10 relaxation part and thought it was awesome, the numbness feeling was cool. I kept at it, and now the guy was going to count from 11-20, and at 20 I would fall asleep and start dreaming. I am not really sure of the number, but I think that it was around 15 that I started feeling strange. Strange as it had never happened to me before. It was like the bed was "shaking" I guess, just a bit. Afterwards it was as if the bed under me had dissapeared. I am not sure if it was supposed to be like this, but I went along with it. Next, it was like I was slowly falling, not the kind of falling in nightmares, but just a slow fall. When the guy hit twenty I couldn't tell where my arms and legs were, so I assumed that I was doing okay, but I still hadn't fallen asleep. Now at this time I was getting a sense that I should fall asleep pretty fast, or I would miss something. I know that wasn't the right way of thinking but I guess it's natural. After that I just lay there and I felt the falling again, and this time my eyes opened. It wasn't me that opened them, so I thought I was in a dream, or I was doing something strange. Well as it turned out I looked at my clock and I wasn't in a dream, it was 10:26. Afterwards I lay there in bed listening to the rest of the file and nothing really happened.

      I have a few questions:

Did I do something wrong? As in should I have tried something other than the mp3? Did I do something wrong while in bed?

What is a typical reaction to this, so that I can see how I am doing?

What if I can't fall asleep when I am supposed to? Should I have tried this file later, when I'm more tired?

Thanks for reading this, and right after the file I went to bed for real and I remembered parts of my first dream in about 5 years, I have a lot of trouble remembering dreams!

Sounds like you were on the right path. Study up on WILD. The "shaking" may be your interpretation of the vibrations which are commonly felt in LD induction techniques like WILD.

I don't know if the forum allows it, but if you have a link to a legitimate download of this mp3 you were listening to, I'm sure many would like to give it a try. It sounds like it was really close to successful. If you can post it, I know that I'd be appreciative.

I think it is common to fall out of progress with WILDing early because these new sensations are often exciting. Perhaps you weren't sleepy enough to actually fall into sleep. Another problem might be that when the speaker told you that you were to fall asleep, it "put you on the spot" and actually was counterproductive in getting you to sleep. I know that has happened to me before when I tried one of these things. My body was not advancing with the speaker and I lost hope, in a sense.

Keep at it though. If you're already getting these sensations, you might find lucid dreaming to come easy to you.

Ok guys, Thanks for the replies. I have been working with that mp3 for a few more nights now, and I have a few things to report back.

Last night I tried it again, and this time I wanted to lay on my side. I always sleep on my side with a pillow in between my legs. I couldn't fall asleep while on my back, so I guessed that it would work better on my side. I had to use earbuds because my big headphones won't work while I sleep like that .

Anyways I got the mp3 started and I was having trouble relaxing, not sure why. But I eventually got over it and it was amazing. It's hard for me to recall in what order all these things happened in, so I may get these out of order.

I had the typical things that I wrote about in my previous post, except much, much stronger. After the falling feeling, there was a very strong feeling I could only associate with a roller coaster. It was like the falling feeling, but in every direction. I think after this I felt some sort of tingly feeling, kinda like a "hot flash" I see on ladies commercials ( I am not sure, I'm a guy ) After that, I just lay there, but I wasn't sure what to do. Can any of you direct me in the direction of a tutorial or some help? I'm kind of confused right now, but I will say that the feelings I had last night were awesome!

Ah that's a first nice try! I had about the same things happening when I first tried WILDing. Just try again some time. I am sure you will succeed eventually =)

      I had my first time

i was sleeping over my gf's house today taking a nap, and i was the one who fell asleep first...she decides to try to talk to me, because i was talking in my sleep...it was a dream where i was doing naughty things with her. What she did was wispered softly to me that i was dreaming and i should do a reality check....it eventually worked. I tried to fly and it worked and then i shot up when i woke up, and i was soo happy.

So i reccommend to anybody who can, get somebody to whisper it in your ear to do a check, or that they're dreaming.
