hey guys i need some help falling asleep!

I have had a few lucid dreams before and would love to have more dreams and learn to control them. But i have a problem with falling asleep. Does anyone have any good sleep induction methods?

what keeps you up at night? i'm a perpetual worrier, so i'm always tossing and turning. it's been months since i've been able to sleep for 8 hours straight. when i finally do fall asleep, i seem to wake up almost exactly 4 hours later for some damned reason, and of course then i have more trouble falling back asleep. it's driving me crazy. hrm. this probably wasn't exactly the helpful reply you were hoping for i'll bet?
Each new day is a chance to turn it all around.

      WELCOME to the forum!

You need help falling asleep? well you could try meditation, or perhaps drinking a cup of hot, relaxation tea? thats what i do sometimes.

Tell us a little about the environment you live in. Comforatble bed? Quiet place? Sleep habits?

Maybe that can give us something to go on...

Im sorry i couldnt post much earlier, i was short on time!

But i have this problem sometimes too, and as i said up there, meditation helps as well as hot tea, or hot milk before bed. It sometimes takes a couple hours for my mind to stop 'jumping around' and thinking about everything. So this is a great question that you asked!

Seeker asked some great questions, because envirnment can be a big factor in sleep, as well as trying to do some induction techniques. So it can be important to react to the envirnment, such as wearing earplugs if it is loud, getting a softer/harder mattress if you have comfortability problems, etc...

I used to have soo much trouble falling asleep, till I grew up and changed something in my attitude towards life and everything... basicly in a nutshell "It'll all be allright, dont worry, be happy." or something... kinda hard to explain but thats what works for me with sleeping.... I lie there, and my thoughts go crazy. I dont try to "participate" in those thoughts, they just come and go. That why I dont keep myself up with worries, frustrations... I just relax, and after a while I sleep!

(I usually do a MILD but then keep myself awake doing it ... but I've been bitching about that for ages now )

I have trouble getting to sleep too I'll be lying in bed for a couple hours before I actually lose awareness. I might just be due for a new mattress though, because it's and old spring matress (it's older than I am!)

Knowing more about your surroundings and general life will help. For example: you may be frustrated with your life and things, in which you should take a bath before bed, or simply something that you find calming and relaxing.

      Here's the quick solution, hehe:

      Any derivitive of benzodiazepine.

Just don't let yourself become reliant on drugs.

Same here. Can't fall asleep until after 2 am. It's stuck like that with me.

Wow it usually takes me at least a hour to fall asleep.

But you could try some metatonin... or I think it's spelled like that.

Differs for me. Its usually hard to judge the time it takes, but it used to take hours for me, but now its anywhere between 10-60 minutes, when MILD'ing it takes considerably longer though.

Sometimes i drink some relaxing tea or somethin like that...or say a glass of wine. Makes me fall asleep real fast.
Whereas usually, it takes up to 2 hours at the most.

I had terrible problem with falling asleep. I was rolling in the bad for 4-5 hours. Then I tried melatonin, which works wonders, and I can still have LD's.

I generally go to bed at 11 on weekdays, but don't fall asleep until 1.

      DAMN YOU CONAN O'BRIEN!!!!!!!

Anyway I have heard that chewing valarian root and exercising a lot are the most natural ways to get some good healthy sleep.

My regards to he that knows where I got that from....

valerian is not the best choice - you cant get lucid while doing it. It also causes certain degree of dependence, and tolerance :/
