Hi there, just found this site after reading up on LD, lots of useful info and nice people it seems.
I've always been interested in Lucid Dreaming, as the LD's I've experienced in the past ( just by accident really, I have little idea what caused me to say 'I'm dreaming!' ) were amazing experiences, it's like the chance of being a superhero without the need to wear embarassing tights.
It was an article in Focus magazine a while back that made me realise this could be an acquired skill, and I noticed some themes immediatly; mechanical devices rarely work in my dreams, which is apparently quite common. I started a dream journal and reality tests but gave up after a while, it was even more disheartening when I mentioned it in passing to my mother and she said she'd possessed the ability for many years and never needed to work at it.
Still, it's good to be making progress again, already after just a few days of writing the journal I am far more aware of my dreams, and that gives me enough confidence to keep at it for a while longer.
I hope to be reporting success soon!
