      Can lucid dreaming become natural?

I've read about people that have had lucid dreams as long as they can remember. I was wondering, that when you're NOT a natural lucid dreamer, would you always have to continue wrighting in your dream journal, doing RC's, using methods like WILD/MILD etc? Or will it eventually just become natural, like having about 1 LD a night standard?

Sorry if this question has been asked a few times before, but I was really wondering.

EDIT: BTW, this is my first post here. I have been seeing the forums for a long time without registering.

      Hello adn welcome

I've been a "natural" lucid dreamer since a kid, and from expirience I just think that by time they get more frecuent until its just normal, that your subconcious will mostly question dreams and get lucid. It happend quickly for me, took like a month to two for it to become normal every night, but I was a kid, I guess being older must take longer, but practice will eventually get you there, as you become to know everything thats involved with dreaming, plus now you have help from others, like in this site, where you can find any info you need to make it easy . In personal expirience: I've never needed a journal in my life, always have had great dream recall, But if you are having problems remembering I would recommend having one since others with this problems do, with effort and interest it should become natural for you in time
      Here and there...

I've experimented with developing natural dream recall without using a journal and I've had mixed results. For a while it wasn't really working and so I picked up my journal again. Now, however, it's been getting better, but I don't think it'll be what it used to be when I was younger. I can fairly easily recall the last dream I had each night, but in order to remember others in a night I either have to write down some details or really get the dream firmly into my memory before I go back to sleep.

It just depends on the person. When it comes to lucidity becoming natural, that would take a lot of daily practice, and if you think you can dedicate yourself to working on it every day then I say go for it. And let us know if there's anything we can do for you.
